Rudy helps to serve that purpose. The deplorables (really at this point being almost all Republicans) don't need things that are true or even make sense. They only need enough bullshit to support them in their continued rationalizations for supporting Trump. That is what Rudy's job is. Nothing more, nothing less. Rudy will never see the inside of a courthouse as Trump's lawyer.
