WASHINGTON As D.C. anticipates a planned white nationalist rally to coincide with the August one-year anniversary of the deadly protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, D.C.s police chief is prepared for whats to come.
Our role is to make sure we have a First Amendment event that goes on without any types of violence or destruction of property, D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said at a Monday news conference. We intend to have the entire police department engaged to make sure that we handle this type of thing.
Jason Kessler, an organizer of last years Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, submitted a request earlier this year to the National Park Service to hold a rally between Aug. 11 and Aug. 12 at Lafayette Square, right in front of the White House.
Kesslers application got an initial approval last month, but a permit had not been issued yet.
Still, Newsham said the Districts police department is experienced when it comes to potentially volatile rallies........................

Events like this keep the left aware of how much racism there is in the current administration. Moreover, it might motivate those in the middle.
So, in that regard, I hope that the creatures keep crawling out from their rocks. We need to see them in the light of day.

(7,725 posts)The blonde chick to her LEFT has been at several of these. She should get out while she can bc she's minor-ly hot and could have a better life.

(7,725 posts)I love the moving page(?) the far right on the bottom of your posts. I have to laugh everytime I see it.
Reminds me of the picture of HRC and Obama sitting next to each other and apparently HRC said something funny to Pres Obama bc he's bent over like he's about to spit out his coffee. She's got her true happy face on. Good people. We shall over come all this.

That gif of Obama can be copied and pasted. It makes me smile every time I look at it. I saw that Hillary/Obama photo and I love it a lot:
This is my favorite meme from it:

(698 posts)(Fun fact: Lafayette Square -- the smallish park across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House -- is under the jurisdiction of four separate LE agencies simultaneously.)
If the alt-righties get too rambunctious in Executive Protective Service or Secret Service turf, they're likely to get a much less mellow response than they got at Charlottesville.
