Former Bush ethics lawyer and current Democratic Senate candidate Richard Painter questioned Trumps mental stability after the president incriminated himself for obstructing justice on Twitter.
Video:
Painter said, Well, its certainly evidence of obstruction of justice. And first, we really have to worry about the mental stability of our president when he is incriminating himself on Twitter. This is very, very damaging, very incriminating tweet. Its part of a long pattern of obstruction of justice. He fired James Comey. He has repeatedly tried to pressure Jeff Sessions to and fire Robert Mueller. And the prosecutor will find evidence of obstruction inside the White House, Im sure. But, you know, the House and Senate judiciary committee should be investigating this. Were way past the time of 1973 where they were investigating Richard Nixon. Im shocked there is no investigation for obstruction of justice and abuse of power and other high crimes and misdemeanors.
The Minnesota Democratic Senate candidate added, I think we were past that point when he fired James Comey. It was clear he fired James Comey in order to obstruct the Russia investigation, and he admitted to that in front of the Russian ambassador in several TV interviews. We should have had hearings in the House and Senate judiciary committee at the same time that Robert Mueller was hired. And thats the way it was done in the Nixon days. They had the House and Senate actually doing their jobs, and investigating. This is and has been evidence of obstruction of justice going all the way back to the Comey firing, at least. Its shameful its not being investigated. He ought to be out of office by now.......................................

(7,433 posts)Weve been here many times before. Yes, the GOP leadership is compromised by intimidation and Russian money and are paralyzed in place. Thats the easy part. The real puzzle is in the refusal of the media and the public to take it to the bank; to assume that its fact rather than wild speculation. Its as if the nation is in some kind of mass denial.
My god, the nation is in extreme peril. There is no leadership. The media, as a fourth estate, is cowed. They still refuse to give respect to the fundamental understanding that the entire political structure of the right is built on a whole network of lies. They persist in ALWAYS granting credibility to the GOP principals and leadership, then spend subsequent news cycles chasing down lies and obfuscations, only to play catch-up to the next credible news item, then resume the same discovery that its all about lying and manipulation. And lets remember that media corporations make billions in profit by acting as Trumpys court jesters.

(11,885 posts)A psychiatrists from John Hopkins, ( Psychiatrists: Trump Mental Urgently Deteriorating) from a July 28th interview on The David Pakman Show, and it was spot on what's happening to him , and what he's suffering from . Very good interview about his mental situation. Its explains a lot about why he acts like he does.
