the "Russian investigation was a Distraction".

Hillary Clinton was exactly right about Trump being Putin's puppet

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Clinton famously called out Trump, implying that he would be Putin's "puppet."

"You encouraged espionage against our people. You are willing to spout the Putin line, sign up for his wish list: break up NATO, do whatever he wants to do," Clinton said. "You continue to get help from him because he has a very clear favorite in this race."

And she was right. Trump's clear anti-NATO remarks have generally aligned with Russia's sentiment about the organization; his expressions of admiration for Putin have played right into the Russian leader's hand

I’ve been making stepping stones this summer and my next project will be one with a quote from Hillary Clinton. Haven’t decided which one though. I had canvassers come to my door, because I made a stone with a Zora Neale Hurston quote and it’s in an obvious place in my front garden. When I asked them if they were Democrats, they said “well we’re progressive Democrats” Clearly, I need a Hillary stone.

Romney’s 2012 comments were off base, but not that off base. Clinton had a chance to put pressure on Russia, and instead took the opportunity to mock Romney’s comments as “dated” and “backwards looking.”

The time to stop Russia was 2012, not 4 years later after an election had been stolen. It will take decades to recover from the disasters Russia helped create, the biggest one being the Orange Turd himself of course.

Also, the fact that the Magnitsky Act happened while she was Sec of State is also her "refusing to deal with Russia".

As a matter of fact, all her criticisms of Putin is her "refusing to deal with Russia". /sarc

Claiming a "refusal to deal with Russia" on the basis of diplomatic language used to defend Obama's reset Policy during the 2012 elections, while ignoring the other facts I mention here, is disingenuous.

Especially when that threat resulted in the installation of the worst pResident in history.

The opportunity to address the looming Russia threat was there in 2012, and we had the full power of the executive branch to do so. Using our time and resources to instead play “gotcha” games with Romney was one of the worst mistakes we’ve ever made as a party.

63. in 2012 how much time left she have as secretary of state? your comment suggests..
Tue Aug 7, 2018, 07:12 PM
Aug 2018

she didn't address the issue at all. You said she "refused" to deal with Russia.

The Romney Campaign wanted to paint Obama as soft as Russia, using the reset button as a sign of Obama's weakness and Obama's Sec of State defended the administration's decision which Romney disingenuously attacked as a sign of Obama's naivete. Further, if we take Robert Gates' word for it - Clinton wasn't prepared to give many concessions to Russia, her position so firm it surprised even him.

It's one thing to point out what the Obama administration could have done differently w.r.t Russia, and offer substantive critiques... quite another to suggest a "refusal to address" an issue when all evidence points to that not being true.
