had she been elected.
As far as trumpopovitch is concerned we are on the same side of the fence, but she isn't as woke as I am.
After we talked, I thought about her comment. Here are some problems we wouldn't have if Ms. Clinton were president:
The refugee and migrant families separated at our borders. Those souls would be enmeshed in normal red tape, a real pain, but they would be together.
The tariff and trade problems. We wouldn't be robbing Peter to pay Paul for crops
We would have investigations, but they wouldn't be about real crimes and treason. They would be gop inspired claptrap. However, I think the trump campaign would be under investigation, it is too big to ignore.
The national parks and nature preserves wouldn't be shrinking, getting drilled or other damage.
Our international standing would be about the same as it was in 2016, instead of flushed down the toilet.

To me the SC was one of the most important reasons to vote16
Also climate change

(10,500 posts)we at least would have taken the Senate back, if not the House. We would have won the close races in WI, PA, NC and even MO.

(14,565 posts)Republicans despise women in high places of power. Drives them nuts. I still refer to David Brock's book "Blinded by the Right." He wrote that during the vast right wing conspiracy '90s all the right wing magazines quickly learned that all they had to do to boost sales well above the norm was to caricature a prominent woman on the cover along with a demeaning headline.
I've never forgotten that and it's one of the reasons I always knew Hillary was in trouble if we ran her in a toss-up cycle as opposed to a heavily favorable cycle like 2008. Those hateful conservatives of every age will summon all misogynist energy to vote against a female.
Hillary would be under impeachment proceedings right now, or already. There is no way to look at issues and say that this wouldn't have met the standard, nor that one. They'd rationalize anything and Trump would be screaming every day that she fixed the election and should be in jail, or worse.

(25,857 posts)that the Republican Congress would have done everything in its power to thwart any legislation, and judicial appointments, anything at all that she'd have tried to do.
And I doubt she'd have tried a go-around by issuing lots of Executive Orders.

(143 posts)Can you imagine how things would be for Bill Clinton with the MeToo movement being galvanized while he's in the White House again? Also, I'm sure we'd have the Benghazi zombie resurrected in some form or some other pointless investigation every year or so.
Finally, the likes of Wikileaks, 4chan, and the right and alt-right media complex would probably be even more destructive than ever.
That being said, I'd definitely prefer to have her in the White House again, and I do think she (and maybe Bill) would survive these challenges.

(13,587 posts)to get control of Congress for Hillary. Turtlehead would have made the same play he did against Obama. At least none of Trumps destructive crap would be going on.
This way we have what I hope is a blue tsunami coming. Maybe with enough momentum to get the Senate too or along with the White House in 2020. I don't know if we're gonna look back and think it was worth it. So much damage to fix. I just hope we can bury the white wingers deep enough that the people let us try.
