I was only #30 in my precinct. Hopefully things will pick up, as the day goes on.
Now I'm waiting for my phone to start ringing. The Thanedar campaign has been relentless with their mailings and phone calls - sometimes 2 or 3 calls a day and I could build a house out of all of the mailing cards I've received. It's been a really aggressive campaign.
I'll be shocked if Whitmer doesn't win the nomination.

(32,677 posts)I was 32 and the only one there. My little rural township usually votes Democratic. Mostly working class and Native American, in the middle of the Isabella Indian Reservation. Let us know how yours voted when you get the results and I'll do the same.

(26,262 posts)A friend of mine is a tribal member. She lived in California but came home, every year, for the event. Lots of good memories.
My ballot was pretty simple - except for Governor and my state rep, who is terming out, everyone else is a Democrat running unopposed in the primary (Debbie Stabenow, my congressman, Dan Kildee and state senator Jim Ananich) I'm in such a Democratic district, there are usually a number of local offices on my ballot that the GOP doesn't even bother with.
I voted for Whitmer. I'm tired of people thinking they can be effective learning 'on the job' in higher governmental offices. They need to get their experience by learning the ropes from the ground up, IMHO. I will hand this to Thanedar, though, he ran a very positive campaign, as did Whitmer. Towards the end, El-Sayed kind of went off of the rails. It's going to be interesting to see how he does.

(23,340 posts)I like using the absentee ballot; I get to read the proposals slowly at the kitchen table.
