7. that's not how deals usually work.

a deal has to carefully describe the specific crimes covered by the deal. if he committed a crime outside the scope of the deal, that's still fair game.

so it's entirely possible that he made a deal regarding some crimes, but tried to hide that he also committed tax fraud, and now he might get nailed for that outside the deal.

it's also entirely possible that the prosecutors are using this for a better deal.
