If a Democrat doesn't say everything exactly right, like some kind of magical incantation, the results are catastrophic. It can be a brilliant idea or tactic, but one inelegant turn of phrase, and the candidate is consigned to the scrap heap, utterly useless. Even some putative Democratic supporters will jump on the dog-pile because the person didn't pronounce every last syllable correctly or didn't win the right way or something else.

But Republicans can advance their fatuous Infrastructure Week nonsense, and it's treated like an inscribed tablet brought down from Mount Sinai.
