Hey r/politics, I’m Ashley Parker, a White House reporter for u/washingtonpost.

Before coming to The Post, I began my career at The New York Times, where I worked for 11 years and covered the Trump campaign in 2016. I started as Maureen Dowd’s research assistant, covered Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012, and then Jeb Bush in 2016 before landing with Trump less than 24-hours after Jeb! dropped out. I regularly attend the White House press briefings, and travel with both the president and vice president—around the country and abroad. Just last week, I was at all three #MAGA rallies.

I’ve also written for The New York Times magazine, as well as the New York Sun, Glamour, Chicago Magazine, The Huffington Post and the Washingtonian magazine. I’m also an NBC/MSNBC analyst, and have waited tables at just about every greater DC restaurant, including the Cheesecake Factory.
