(25,861 posts)earlier today. He NEVER tells me important things in a timely fashion. Darn. Anyway, he told me more or less all about this mission, and it is cool beyond imagining.
This astronomer son is in a PhD program and other than the Parker Solar Probe his best information today was that he thought he'd be completing his PhD several years before we'd thought. He only started last year, fall of 2017, and he told me tonight he thought he'd be done no later than 2021, possibly even 2020. Totally cool. And wonderful. Of course (and understandably) he's already concerned with life as a post-doc, but I'm willing to take it one step at a time. I know. Easy form mom to say.
