(5,803 posts)If Dems win majority, she would have the power to subpoena Trump.
Pelosi would have the power to bring impeachment to the table.
You better believe he is terrified of both of these women and more.
Her tweet makes PERFECT sense.

(14,249 posts)A clip was shown of Trump trashing Maxine and Jonathan Capehart asked her what she thought of it. She said "He's afraid of Maxine. He's afraid of me. He's afraid of women and minorities ...""
It was a perfectly appropriate comment.

(23,319 posts)on MANY occasions disparaging Maxine Waters...calling her names and sicking his mouth breathing cult members on her to the point where she has to have security detail with her for protection. It makes perfect sense to bring Maxine into the conversation IMO.

(31,261 posts)and LeBron James low intelligence. So Nancy has it right. Trump uses specific attacks, against Nancy, it is she can't lead, against Maxine, LeBron, Lemon, NFL players, it's that they are dumb and unamerican.
dawg
(10,624 posts)that Trump insulted all of them in the exact same way (low IQ).
One is a politician, one a journalist, and the other a Democratic politician.
Two are men and one is a woman.
Two are fairly young while the third is more senior.
If only there were some commonality between them to help explain why Trump would lump them all together this way.
I guess it'll just have to be another mystery for the ages.

(7,142 posts)Nancy Pelosi has been one of the best, most productive leaders of the House.
Stop and think how the mere mention of her name denotes negativity. The M$M is complicit with Republicans in taking one of our strengths, Pelosi, and Maxine, and turning them negative. What has Pelosi and Waters actually done that is so awful? I can only think of backing working men and women.
The M$M controls the narrative, and the true narrative should be that Nancy and Maxine are great leaders of our nation. The M$M should have shot down all of the undeserved right wing criticism, but they didn't and don't because they are complicit.

(32,639 posts)Nancy Pelosi has shown leadership and backbone since before Cheeto even thought about running. She has helped many/most of the current Democratic representatives in one way or another. She has worked with GOP legislators whenever possible to achieve bipartisan objectives, but sadly there have been few opportunities in the last couple of years. She gets things done and she helps wherever she's needed.
Go Nancy! Thanks for your inspired leadership and for doing a difficult, thankless job - well done!

(14,576 posts)you guessed it - Texas.
We were talking politics and he tried all the right wing talking points on me. I did passably well refuting them, and he asked me if I felt that the Mueller investigation had gone long enough because, "Clearly, there's been no collusion."
I said, no, it hasn't, and yes, there has been collusion. I named a few points of collusion and then suggested that Trump is a traitor.
Then, he said something that surprised me. He asked me how I could call Trump a traitor and not even mention Maxine Waters.
My point here is not to forward some right wing talking point, but to illustrate to you the all-important point Obama brought up earlier this year when interviewed by Letterman. He said that we are so polarized because, "Not everyone is operating from the same set of facts."
One of the biggest things we need to institute when we take back our republic is a 21st century Fairness Doctrine. I'm not sure how that would look, but I do know that my cousin is among millions of Americans who are utterly convinced Trump is innocent and that the big, bad Democrats are bullying him through the Mueller investigation. Seriously.
We're not going to be able to change these peoples' minds, either. We're going to have to show up at the polls in such force that it makes their efforts to cheat futile.

(14,576 posts)media. Basically, if you remember the 'controversy' when Waters made some statement to the effect that if you lie like Huckleberry Sanders then you shouldn't be surprised not to be served in restaurants. Something like that. Non-issue to me.
Yet these right-wingers are fixated on that. Absolutely fixated. She's fomenting violence...she's guilty of sedition...she's a traitor the right-wing noise machine screams.
But, remember, this is the same guy who, during our conversation when I mentioned Obama didn't have one scandal, said, "Yeah but we never really got to the bottom of 'fast and furious.'"
My whole point here is not to spout r-w bullshit, but to illustrate how THOROUGHLY propagandized these people actually are. It's fucking scary.
So, like I said, the only way we're going to make this work is show up in record numbers to the polls in November and vote blue. THEN, pressure those we elect to implement a 21st century Fairness Doctrine. We've got to get it so virtually everyone is operating from the same basic set of facts, and we don't have that now, by a long shot. (I say 'virtually' because there will always be wing-nuts).
As to Waters, she's got guts and she's telling it like it is. Trump is absolutely unbalanced, unqualified, profoundly corrupt and treasonous.
