Giuliani: Avenatti should settle 'bankruptcy situation' before running for White House

Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, on Sunday taunted Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels’s attorney, saying he should settle his “bankruptcy situation” before running for the U.S. presidency.

Giuliani said on CNN’s State of the Union that Avenatti, who has become an adversary of Giuliani and Trump, “has every right to do what he wants.”

“I would settle ... the bankruptcy situation, where he owes 10 million bucks, first, but, hey, it's up to him,” Giuliani said.


In May, Avenatti’s law firm was hit with a $10 million settlement fine in bankruptcy court related to a lapsed payment agreement. That came after Avenatti failed to pay $2 million to a former associate to settle the firm’s bankruptcy, according to the Los Angeles Times.
