https://www.mediaite.com/online/kellyanne-conway-says-husbands-trump-tweets-disrespectful-violation-of-basic-decency-in-stunning-profile/Speaking of his tweets, George said this to WaPos Ben Terris: Its an outlet, that keeps it a small part of my life.
I think Im actually holding back a little, he added. I think the reason why is obvious.
That particular moment took place in the Conways kitchen. As George confessed about Trump, Kellyanne apparently sang loudly into a cucumber to make it hard to hear his words.
A bit comical? Perhaps, but it was not the only time Kellyanne revealed her distaste for Georges tweets.
At one point, Kellyanne who went in and off-record throughout dropped a few truth bombs she later did not want to be attributed to her but instead reported, as someone familiar, including calling Georges tweets disrespectful and a violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows.
Kellyanne has to be referring to those "alternative facts" again if she thinks marital vows require George to have any respect for the corrupt moron she decided to work for.

(90,773 posts)and the Kellyanne/George Conway shtick doesn't either.
The Conways appear to have hopes of becoming the new Matalin/Carville, to cultivate that template as their "brand" - as the frivolous-minded feel the need to achieve - a "brand". No substance - just a brand. An angle. A hook. A shtick. Ka-ching!
Ever notice how almost all of the long term Trumpers talk in terms of their "brand"?
I don't dislike Carville and I'm not attacking him - it's simply that his marriage to Matalin has never been an example of anything to me.
Well, other than the formulaic shtick of two opposing forces coming together and all the antics - real or imagined - that ensue because of it.
And that only applies to the broadcast version of their marriage - the one that got people to watch them on TV news shows to see what, if anything, happens. I still recall the hook the shows used of - Carville and Matalin together on (whatever show at the time) - Will there be fireworks? (or words to that effect)
Nor am I saying that's why the two (C&M) are together - rather, the appeal to others of an union between the two would elicit the curiosity of onlookers, making them a marketable commodity to have together on TV or in print. Higher ratings, more papers/magazines bought. People taking delight in a husband and wife team sparring. Cheering for their team, so to speak, by rooting for one spouse to get the better of the other spouse.
I think the Conways are attempting to cash in on that curiosity/formula.
Could I be married to someone that much my opposite? (Which is the often occurring and completely expected topic such couples inspire)
Of course not. There exist some attitudes and beliefs that are too abhorrent to overcome.

(6,881 posts)And the other truism: relationships are complicated. On KellyAnne's part she just seems blindly self-centered and ambitious. Like her boss. Her husband, just trying to be his own man. Opposites can attract and be the most loyal and loving couples I know. But only if their love knows how to communicate, even fight, while still being open and really listening to the one they love. In this case, they just seem like total strangers lovelessly living under the same roof.

(90,773 posts)Nor do I wonder why they got married in the first place. That wasn't what I was talking about.
You can love your spouse and still think you're marketable as a couple or have others, such a news producers, think you're marketable.
Or for the public to have an interest in your relationship - said interest being what makes the couple marketable.
I just think, maybe, that the Conways are going for the C&M role - the political couple - with opposing views - that does news shows alone and together. People tuned in before - they might tune in again.
With Carville and Matalin people thought Democratic Party/Republican Party.
With the Conways, all I hear is "brand".
Which actually has nothing to do with a private persona - or the private life of a couple. It's about the public perception of a couple. The one the public speculates about and the joint persona couples present to the public for speculation.

(6,881 posts)Heard that the husband was regretting today that he ever introduced his wife to Trump. Probably really loved her and to be thrown over out of loyalty to such a douchebag who only cares about himself.

(90,773 posts)Kellyanne, before she was a Conway, was a Clinton basher. And George Conway worked on the suit against Clinton for Paula Jones.
So, I'm thinking they're not that far removed from each other on politics.
Conway might dislike Trump but then so does Bill Kristol. Meaning, simply disliking Trump doesn't qualify anyone as a good guy.

White House advisor Kellyanne Conway has a complicated relationship with her husband, George, who is a vocal critic of the her boss, according to a Wednesday Washington Post feature.
On the subject of Georges tweeting, the medium through which he expresses his discontent with the administration, she has harsh words. It is disrespectful, its a violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows, she said.
Trump's like the Toxic Avenger that kills everything he touches.

(6,881 posts)She obviously works by her boss's loyalty code.
What she should have said, assuming she was an open and understanding human being, is "Of course, he has a right to his own opinions, just like everyone else."
