(81,435 posts)As my husband often says in moments like this: "more ME, please."
Except with The Asset it'd just be "more ME!" No "please". Just a demand. From an adult-size spoiled brat.

(1,353 posts)Unlike the cold response from soulless Trump...refuse to use "president" before his name.

(10,885 posts)He writes and speaks from his beautiful heart, and always knows the appropriate words to use in every instance. He is a master of language.
Rest peacefully, Aretha. God bless the Obama family.

(28,125 posts)His tweet brought tears, yet again. I miss him so. He understood what Aretha brought to our nation with her music and, as you said, he expressed it so eloquently.
I cannot listen to her sing at Pres. Obama's inauguration without wiping tears. What a moment in time that was.

(1,606 posts)Our nation thirsts for such profoundly meaningful expressions of human decency and compassion.
Hold it close; never let go. Our children and a gentler tenor of our nation's future depend on us never losing it.

(769 posts)She has been singing for me and so many others my entire adult life.
May her beautiful soul, the Queen of Soul, find peace and eternal rest.
She will be sorely missed.
And thank you President and Mrs. Obama for such a moving tribute to Aretha.
I know she meant a great deal to both of you.
And as for that asshole who now resides in the White House and has NO soul,
may he find a place in hell where no one else knows he's there.
R.I.P. Aretha.
