Did the Pentagon stop Trump's parade?

Last edited Fri Aug 17, 2018, 02:45 PM - Edit history (1)

Trump has blamed Washington D.C. politicians for making his parade cost too much -- $92 million.

My guess is that it was actually the generals at the Pentagon who fucked him out of his parade.

Their reasons probably ranged from tanks tearing up the streets of D.C., to countless opportunities for terrorists to blow up U.S. military personnel and equipment, to "a shortage of troops needed elsewhere".

They probably fed him every imaginable reason that the parade had too much of a possibility of making him look "weak." In other words, they read him well. They knew that telling him he'd look "weak" was all that was necessary to stop his insane parade fetish.

Perhaps one of the generals will someday write a book on how they conned the orange freak into calling off his military extravaganza.

If the Pentagon was in fact behind the "cancellation," we owe them a debt of gratitude. We are not, and never have been, a country that needs to publicly demonstrate our military might. Only dictators called "Great Leader" and such, have the need to do so.

1. Doesn't really matter who stopped it IMHO

It should really never have gotten off the ground and been shot down immediately. Good for DC politicians if they stopped it IMHO.

3. I think they meant to stop it in the first place and used budgeting to do it.

Notice it got cancelled after Congress signed the budget and suddenly "OMG, it's really going to cost almost twice what we got funding for! And, oops, the budget was just signed, so we can't request more funding."
Oops indeed.
If Congress hadn't signed the new budget by October, they would have used the fact they had to stick with the current budget, and couldn't afford it because there was no money allocated to free up to fund it to cancel it.
You can always count on the Pentagon to be able to strategically use of the 104th bean counter division for special projects.

6. Right. The GOP leadership. A bunch of "Profiles in Courage."

The Republican Party holds power because they're willing to do anything. ANYTHING.

They will bite the heads off live chickens, kidnap children at the border, or allow inmates to live in dread in their "Privatized Prisons."

The Republican propaganda machine can and will justify anything.

There is no "election issue" they can't spin, twist, defend and turn into a virtue.

The world will be a better place once today's GOP is viewed as a despised entity which can bring about horrors that can exist, even in of American.

My Weaselspeak to English translator for Trump's tweet reads, "I didn't want a dumb ol' parade anyway!" followed by the pitter-patter of tiny little feet running down the hall and the bedroom door slamming REALLY HARD.

Actually, it's really hard to LOL when you realize that this madman has the nuclear codes near him all the time.

10. He'll go to a parade on Vets Day anyway

In PARIS. That's right, he's spending Veteran's Day in France so he can see a big shiny parade. Remember he got the wacko idea for the stupid parade here because he was so impressed with France's. He probably thought France put it on to honor him.

It's really nor a big jump to conclude that he perceives military power as an extension of his manhood.

That's what Cheeto wanted all along. In Paris they are celebrating 100 years since the end of World War I.
I do believe some American military bands will be invited to participate, but not real fighting troops. (no point to that)
