What do y'all think Bannon is up to with this interview?

I’m asking that this not end up being a “fuck them all” thread. I’m curious as to what people think. Ari Melber couldn’t pass up a big get I’m sure, and it is a big get. But they’re teasing that Bannon is now setting up a pro-45 organization to somehow rally the right. In photos he looks cleaned up (though apparently still wearing two shirts) and that weirdo Nunberg is with him in the organization.

I’d think Bannon and 45’s people would hate one another. Certainly the WH staff must despise him. Is he trying to get back in? Is he pulling strings from underneath w/o most realizing it?

Any real speculation about what help or harm this genuinely creepy guy is up to?

If it’s that simple I’m not worried. But if it’s the propaganda arm of an actual attempt to incite violence that is a problem.

If Melber is smart he was well prepared and pointed out all the propaganda tricks that seem designed to cause actual violence.

Ick.

That it must be destroyed and then built back up.

Doesn’t matter what Trump has called him.

Doesn’t matter if they share ideology.

Trump is a tool for destabilization which plays to Bannon Theory.

His kind thinks of themselves as revolutionaries.

with Ari Melber on MSNBC. Is he trying to reach a more liberal audience (good luck with that)? Does he just want the air time and nobody else will interview him?

His main crew would also find it to be “tough”. Their man going into the lions den. It’s not to trash Trump. Bannon’s support also supports Trump and Bannon knows how easily their feelings get hurt.

I'm not sure why anyone with a cable show would consider Steve Bannon a "get." Even if the show is having him on in a "point and laugh, children" kind of way, giving this odious individual any air at all is a blunder. There are plenty of unheard voices out there with far more interesting things to say. Just for starters, Rev. Barber of North Carolina.

What is Bannon up to? For a brief time he was Trump's Brain, and he was wheeling and dealing directly out of the White House. That's pretty heady stuff. Since he got shown the door, I'm sure Bannon hasn't had anything near to that sweet, uncut mainline attention drug, and he'd really like to get back in the limelight for more. The more he's ignored, the better off everyone will be.

He doesn't want the wheels to fall off of just this country, it is more than that. Think Newt Gingrich with even less moral compass. White nationalist seeking shelter and a voice wherever he can find it. This fool, is dangerous and underestimating him....let alone giving him a nationwide stage to spout his sh*t is stupid.

And he craves the attention. I'm amazed he's still alive considering the way he puts away the hooch.

I think he fancies himself as some kind of under-appreciated, revolutionary, right-wing savior who just hasn't found his groove yet. He's a buffoon, but a dangerous one. He's evil, and his ideas are hateful - like Trump's - but he's not stupid. It's a good thing that he's a drunk, otherwise I think he'd be a lot further along than he is already.

He also fancies himself as the Leni Riefenstahl of the modern fascist movement. He couldn't cut it in Hollywood, so he's looking for a new audience. He is a bitter, pathetic little man.

However we would be foolish to underestimate him. He is determined and driven. He can not be allowed to succeed. I just hope he drinks himself to death before he gets anywhere.

I am thoroughly creeped out. I get that “he’s playing to an audience of one” feeling. I only hope him coming out of the shadows will pull his teeth. And that 45 will hate him for even assuming he has any influence.

He literally blamed Roy Moore’s defeat on Ryan and McConnell not standing up for him.

Bannon appears to be a manipulator and I can’t imagine him doing anything without that end in mind. Like you, I’m very curious. And it being on Friday the usual lineup won’t talk about it for days.

I’m sorry, and this may come off as rude, but Bannon has OPINIONS. Hell, the guy two doors down has opinions and I wouldn’t put him on TV. We have legal scholars. We have Presidential scholars, we have constitutional scholars, and even impeachment scholars. SCHOLARS. People who have devoted their entire lives to understanding the law. Then we have a bloated, puss-crusted, white-supremacity CUCK trying to make a difference in our thought processes. Don’t let him. He talks a great game. He knows NOTHING. He is a scholar of NOTHING. His credo: Burn it all down. That’s his philosophy. Let him light the match and be indicted for firestarting in an extremely fire prone area. If not that, don’t cover him. He brought us to this hell. His 15 minutes ended about 45 minutes ago. All he has is BS rhetoric with no truths or polls or even history to back him. Shun him. Send him back to his hole. He is lucky he’s not in jail.
