The GOP's main plan is to stack the courts in such a way that ONLY right wing decisions will be made. It is a way of guaranteeing that nothing other than right wing policies can move along in the US for decades. It will be a nullification court that strips the country of civil rights, labor rights, environmental laws, women's reproductive rights, and ANYTHING even remotely considered progressive.

It is a way of making blatantly unconstitutional laws constitutional and valid. And it is way to guarantee GOP iron fist rule even when they do NOT hold majority power. It is a way to created stalemated covering forever.

democratic senate would be able to appoint two justices to the SC to make 11. There is no rule that says there can only be 9. It would make heads explode but doable.
