Melanie going to Africa to "educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent"

The US first lady Melania Trump will travel to Africa later this year, her office announced Monday, with further details expected in the coming weeks.

“This will be my first time traveling to Africa and I am excited to educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent,” Trump said in a statement, “while also learning about its rich culture and history.”

It is not yet clear where the US first lady will travel on the vast continent or when, but according to her communications director Stephanie Grisham, the White House “will release details in the coming weeks.”

“I look forward to highlighting the successful humanitarian work and development programs being done in many of the countries,” Trump said in a statement.

You can first educate yourself on their needs. The first time you went there didn't really show the concern you have for children, IMHO. Better to solidify your best for children here before you go abroad. Just saying. Oh, and leave that green jacket thingy home if you want to really educate yourself about children's needs.

The emptiness of their souls is staggering. They mean nothing by this. They will do nothing with this. It is all a shiny thing to distract.

Just like we pay all the expenses for Trump's darling children. They are such transparent grifters.

The whole visual of Melania being a long time Russian asset is starting to look more and more plausible every day. It sure would explain a lot. If it was a movie, it would be a box office flop as these characters are all much too ridiculous.

Melly is not the First Lady of the World, and she's barely First Lady of the U.S. WTH?

If cyberbullying is your cause, Melly, Africa isn't the place to study it.
From Wikipedia:

According to 2011 estimates, about 13.5% of the African population has Internet access. While Africa accounts for 15.0% of the world's population, only 6.2% of the World's Internet subscribers are Africans. Africans who have access to broadband connections are estimated to be in percentage of 1% or lower.

Otherwise, pick one cause and stick to it. Cyberbullying? Children of the world?

Part of your deal is to do something in this country. You became a citizen and now have one of the top positions of influence yet you continue to be an empty person.
I was part of an International symposium which meets yearly for research and conversation about helping children and families through school and counseling. Yet guess what, when the crisis with caging children hit the news, the "executive" director didn't think we could make a statement(just too local, I guess..snark)....yet along came statements from all the group we all recognize like the Pediatric doctors, the APA, etc. Then, at the conference this year, nothing was even said. The cowardice has always been there, but I hadn't seen it tested. Feet of clay run deep when people live in denial. So disappointed and am done with them.
