What did they give him money for then? The guy made an "exorbitant request" and you wanted to keep it private? What the hell does that mean? He was either blackmailing the two of them, or, he was going to blackmail them. Clearly, there was something they didn't want public.

I'm not willing to assume anything just yet... But it is sickening if there is truth in the allegations and she is hiding behind Bourdain's death. And if the allegations are false, equally devastating.

As with all important social movements, we don't get to necessarily pick the "figureheads" and leaders. We always run the risk that those at the forefront may be deeply flawed, emotionally impaired, or simply hypocrites.

..."Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".

This is yet another less-than-good look for Argento and she really needs to leave Anthony out of it since he's not here to speak for himself.

Rest in peace, Anthony B...

refusing to believe her word? I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt before castigating her and calling her despicable. We all deserve to be heard!

That opens anyone of us open to defamation and false prosecution. Belief is important to victims but some modicum of proof somewhere should be offered. i.e. Others coming forth or a certain pattern of behavior. Let's wait to see if that happens before ruining her career too.

...we're supposed to believe Argento outright when she makes allegations of sexual abuse against someone else but when someone makes allegations of sexual abuse against her, all of a sudden we're supposed to give her the benefit of the doubt? You can't have it both ways; what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

A sexual abuser is a sexual abuser is a sexual abuser, whether they've done it once or done it 20 times, period.

She paid the kid $380,000. And the only one who could corroborate her story is dead.

If she was being blackmailed or a victim of extortion then she should have contacted law enforcement.

And it is terribly sad that she is bringing in Anthony Bourdain in her denial, a man who is dead and unable to have anything to say.

This is really upsetting.

Deny, that’s fine.

Attack the victims character, but cool.

Use your dead partner as an excuse for why you made what you claim is a totally unjustified payment? Very uncool.
