Jury Question: What if the jury cant reach a unanimous decision on just one count?
Based on that question alone, we can presume there is at least one guilty verdict. If all other 17 counts were innocent, it is a very unlikely scenario youd have a hold-out for guilty on just one count. It doesnt make any sense.
More than likely there is a guilty verdict on multiple charges.
And Paul Manafort has a sad.

(102,290 posts)SO, don't jump to any conclusions. The judge is going to have to bring the foreman in to clarify.

Here the quote is
"If we cannot come to a consensus for a single count, how can we fill in the verdict sheet?"
That's ambiguous. One particular count or no consensus on any count.

The jury submitted a note which said: Your honor if we cannot come to a consensus for a single count, how should we fill in the verdict form? What does that mean for verdict. And we will need another verdict form.

(13,524 posts)to come to a verdict on one count out of 18 (which
means very little) or if they failed to come to a verdict
on any count (which would be significant).
The judge will tell them little about the consequences of a non-verdict.

(51,119 posts)Verdict forms usually have two choices: Guilty and Not Guilty. Sounds like they are simply asking what they are supposed to indicate on the verdict form that doesn't have a third option of No Verdict
Nevilledog
(51,119 posts)Not sure why they need a new verdict form..... There's a separate sheet/verdict form for each count. At least, that's how we did it in AZ state court.
Lastly, I would interpret the question about how would a disagreement as to a single count affect the final verdict to mean they wanna know if their verdicts on the other 17 counts become null and void.
