WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation

The Jan. 6, 2017, meeting, held at Trump Tower, was a prime example. He was briefed that day by John O. Brennan, the C.I.A. director; James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence; and Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency and the commander of United States Cyber Command.

The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, was also there; after the formal briefing, he privately told Mr. Trump about the “Steele dossier.” That report, by a former British intelligence officer, included uncorroborated salacious stories of Mr. Trump’s activities during a visit to Moscow, which he denied.

According to nearly a dozen people who either attended the meeting with the president-elect or were later briefed on it, the four primary intelligence officials described the streams of intelligence that convinced them of Mr. Putin’s role in the election interference.

*******
Trump has now fired, forced to leave government, or pulled the security clearance for all the
major players he briefed him about Putin/Russia's interference 2 weeks before his inauguration.

Correction James Clapper former director of the N.I.A. worked for both Republican and Democratic
Presidents and retired when President Obama's 2nd term was up. He now works with "Investigate
Russia." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Clapper

the 2016 election. He broke the law to improve his chances of winning. We have the first of many admissions.

Why not say that it's likely that this is only ONE of the MANY ways he is suspected of cheating? If he cheated wrt federal election laws, can't we say that it's more acceptable today to believe that he cheated in other ways? Russian leaks? Cambridge Analytica and social media? Trump Tower meetings with Russians? Lying to law enforcement and congress about the 82 known Russian contacts? Money laundering through Trump businesses? Money laundering through NRA??

Can't we say that everything is on the table more so than ever now? And if we aren't sure of the depth of the cheating, what do we starting thinking about wrt his legitimacy as president? As someone who has a pending SCOTUS nomination?

So...while these convictions nibble around the edges of a vast criminal enterprise, don't they point toward much bigger consequences that we should be wondering about?

Manafort. I'm sure each has many more indictments lined up in front of him, more serious ones for sure. Today was motivation for those two to start talking fast.

And the kicker...if pardoned, they can't take the Fifth if subpoena'd wrt to Russia, money laundering, Trump Tower meetings, other meetings with Russians in Prague, Hungary, and Italy...NRA money, sanctions, who changed the GOP platform, etc.

They are going to talk or they are in prison for a long time.

Hope Flynn and Papadopolous are watching.
