The only thing is that power producers, like AEP, have found that it is more profitable to switch to natural gas for the fuel. The newer gas=fired units cost less than half of a coal-fired unit, requires much less ongoing maintenance and has much less expensive regular maintenance costs.. On top of that, a power producer makes over 35% more profit by switching to natural gas. Company profit! They aren't switching back to coal.
