Local talk radio was a hoot this afternoon "I don't care"

Listened into the local mega rightwing radio station. The host was a fill-in for the regular guy. And he was dumb. He didn't even know about Trump's rally tonight.

So he leads with the Cohen story (no mention of Manafort) and said "I don't care. Do you?" and went straight to the phones.

"I don't care. That's not why I voted for him"
"He's doing such a great job"
etc.

The host interjected false equivalencies to Obama and then said "CNN is 'Watergate' 'Watergate'. I checked out 'The Five' on Fox but that might be pretaped because their not talking about it. They should offer us their opinion on this" ---They aren't saying anything because that news porn doesn't know what to say yet.

Then he says "The President is getting off his plane. Let's see if has any remarks"

Trump via ABC News - Manafort. Unfair. No collusion. Witch hunt.

I'm cracking up because the host had completely ignored the second WHAMMY of the day. Host "Oh I don't care about that guy anyway"

More calls echoing the "I don't care" narrative.

Hilarious.

---evade taxes
----obtain fraudulent bank loans
----fuck strippers, pay them off to be quiet, but have their wives and family find out anyway

Do all that, get back to us how it works out

Someone should troll the station with a call like that

The normal host usually just asks questions and says "Gee I don't know"

This moron actually mentioned how much free airtime Trump got during the campaign AND repeated that Cohen's admittance had to be Trump.

Every caller sounded like they were driving a turnip truck.

The reason they idolize Trump is because he does what they do or wish they could do.

If the opportunity presented itself they would 100% lie and cheat.

It nauseates me. I remember 25 years ago, riding in my father's truck. By that point, he'd all but soldered the radio tuning knob on the local talk station. Sad, before that era he'd just listen to music on the radio or on tapes on the car radio.

AM DXing (Listening for and logging distant stations). When I started that hobby 30 years ago this fall, there was still a lot of music on the radio. Much of the talk there was came from services like Talk Net, where people could come in and talk about their emotional and financial difficulties. The rest was sports for the most part. I hardly even try to do it any more.

AM stations have aggressively gone after getting a FM translator station... even daytimers (I assume they go to Part 15 rules after sundown). FM is great for music, and investing in a RCS Selector system (or some other radio station automation) is cheaper than paying out for Rush Limp-Balls and his ilk. Plus it is easier to sell airtime on a music station versus a political talk station - certain advertisers will say "No Rush, No Hannity" right off the bat.

Dx-ing in any of the HF bands (Longwave, Mediumwave, Shortwave) is slowly dying. BBC Radio 4 Longwave (198khz) is supposedly on life support, basically because there are only a handful of vacuum tube valves left to power the 500kW transmitter and it might not be safe to make more (special design) - and not economical to put in a new transmitter either. BBC has even been turning off a number of AM local stations... all to no complaint because everyone is listening on DAB or FM. Shortwave transmissions have been on the decrease for years and years. Even DX-ing in the VHF bands during Sporadic-E events is kinda dead - in analogue days it was quick to tune the whole band... with today's digital TV you have to scan and re-scan and re-scan... and that takes time. Best I ever got out of TV in the digital era is

I'd even dare say the Internet has killed off DX-ing as most broadcast stations also live-stream online, and VPNs can be used to get around geographical restrictions.

12. We have music on one local station

It is a broadcast of the Music of Your Life satellite feed. It is also heard on TWO FM stations, one of which is a translator. All our other AM stations are talk, one being an ESPN station.

I also do FM DX, but our local FM band has grown quite clogged up over the past couple of years with repeaters/translators. I did get a few FM stations this summer in a couple of events.

When I listen to hear music or other entertainment, I, like others turn to the internet. Formats on the radio these days, in the US, are so highly engineered and test-marketed that the product is boring an predictable. I can see why over the air broadcasting is dying out.

Admit that they've been wrong all this time? Let slip that Emperor Donald isn't infallible? 'Cause it ain't gonna happen. They'll slink off for a little while and lay low. Then something will happen that will vindicate some sick aspect of their warped world view, and they'll come roaring back to pwn the libtards. Or, if nothing happens, they'll slowly creep back into the national discourse, hoping we don't notice them, and take their place again.

Give 'em 4-6 weeks, just in time for the campaign and election day in November.

My Republican aunt called me 20 minutes ago and asked me to help cut down the berry branches from her palm trees later this afternoon. She has been out cutting the grass, at age 75 almost 76.

That is their reality. Trust me, they aren't watching the news and changing opinion about Donald Trump.
