I made the mistake of discussing climate change with a Deplorable online.

Me- I'm not a scientist but I know there is a consensus in the scientific community that the planet is warming and man's activities are contributing to it. The only debate is how quickly it is occurring, have we past the past the point of no return, and if we haven't what can we do to slow it.

Deplorable - Why isn't Florida under water ?

there are many "flood days" with NO RAIN in the last few days.

They are investing in raising the level of the streets and in massive pumping systems.

Florida, being made of mostly limestone, is not going to stop the rising ocean with any kind of sea wall.

they never got...bc they can't stand 'ler'nen'. Or they feign stupid. (lesser amount of the time.) Their ignorance is so collossal that you could type all day everyday, and they say stupid things just to delay and wait for your description. then, they would pick THAT apart avoiding the bigger point. That point being, Climate change is real and man has contributed. PERIOD. the time for debate was over on that about 1996.

Don't discuss denialism with a denialist.

It's the same arguments creationists use.

Spent many a year, better part of a decade in the early 2010s, arguing with those idiots.

Was fun, but informative.

"the climate is always changing and back in Fred Flintstones day it wasn't the peddlemobiles that caused the warming so you can't prove it's being warmed by man". "Back in the day, the 70s, it was global cooling" "if Al Gore would stop riding around in his plane and inventing things like the interwebs it wouldn't be getting warmer". "The ice is getting deeper everywhere and the polar bears like the idea of warm water"

And that pretty much sums it up.
