Not really a surprise at all but watching them twist and turn facts is kinda fun.

13. OMG...I live in Iowa

and the residents of my small town are all over Facebook with their "build the wall" and "if I see an illegal, I'm making sure he never hurts anyone" rhetoric. Veiled threats all over the place and they get really, really angry if it is pointed out that people are killed by US citizens far more often than those here without documentation.

I feel for the family of that young woman, but there are other missing young women (and young men) who no one really cares about because they aren't as "pretty" or quite as white. Pointing out the man who killed the wife and young daughters gets the "mental illness, we should have sympathy for him" response.

Oh, I SO want to move to a better, less hate-filled place.
