Why Didn't Cohen cooperate in his plea...Bait?

Maybe because it is a setup by Mueller? Could it be they did not publicly detail any cooperation agreement with Cohen and are baiting the lure to be reached out to by Trump or his henchmen.....? Be assured Cohen wears a wire.

When was Cohen indicted? I can't find anything that details where and when he was charged with the crimes to which he pleaded guilty today.

Any clue?

He basically came in and confessed to a list of charges. It was pretty clear the way it played out that he'd already worked out the details with the SDNY ahead of time.

The reason why we don't know about a cooperation agreement might be because it's under seal, and/or they haven't worked out all the details yet. That would make Cohen's guilty plea sort of a good faith maneuver on Cohen's part.

if you've already got a tape of donnie saying something, ok, yeah, it's marginally better to have cohen saying yes, that other voice is donnie. but everyone recognizes donnie's voice so it's not a big help.

moreover, prosecutors can still call cohen as a witness even without a deal, possibly even as a hostile witness where they can be more aggressive and leading in their questioning.

the value of a cooperating witness is primarily in that they can lead prosecutors to the evidence. in this case, they already have, in all likelihood, virtually all the evidence cohen could provide.

so it's not clear that mueller would really be getting much out of any deal.

more important, is Cohen can release any tape recording that the court already ruled that he does not have to. Its the tape recordings that will take trump down and republicans will be forced to have to make a decision on the manner of their own destruction
