I wonder what it would be like for a Democrat to come into a basically sound situation (like, oh, the one they leave for the next president) rather than a disaster? Every blinking time, all the way back to Carter, the Democrat is elected because the GOP has brought some kind of disaster.

When is 48% of the populace going to notice they vote for the one that causes the disaster, and just... a few of them... stay home for a change?

It's really uncanny. The Democratic presidents are like firefighters, allowed in only when the house is ablaze.

I was talking to someone the other day, and I said that when the Democrats take back the White House in 2020, there will be SO MUCH damage to repair, that that person is likely not going to be able to fix it all in 4 years. And truthfully, that's probably their plan. They did it to Obama. When it comes time to campaign again in 2024, they can run on, "He/she promised to fix the country, but LOOK! It's still not fixed!"

Trump has caused so much damage to our country that there isn't a person alive who can fix it all in one term. The only way to do it would be to pass a bill I like to call the Pmurt Bill, that essentially reverses EVERYTHING Trump did in his term with a single bill. If Trump signed it into law, it's repealed. If he withdrew us from it (like the Iran deal, the Paris Accords, etc.), we're now back in. And I'd also like to see something passed where it goes all Egyptian Emperor and wipes the Trump name completely off the books, so there's no record of him EVER being president (other than the indictments, of course). He ran to stroke his own ego and to increase his "brand," which is the Trump name. He or his family shouldn't get to benefit from it in any way. Just like the "Son of Sam" law, he shouldn't be able to benefit from his crimes. You're wiped off the books. When your grandchildren open a history book, they'll see President Obama, a blank space with an asterisk in it, and then the next President.
