"White House Admits Trump Is Using Official Events For Midterm Campaigning"

And nothing will be done. A lawless Administration.

WASHINGTON ― Top White House staffers on Tuesday said that “official” government events are part of President Donald Trump’s efforts to help Republicans in the coming midterm elections ― an admission that public dollars are being used for partisan political purposes.

One staff member on a conference call with reporters, responding to whether Trump planned to visit “purple” congressional districts rather than the safely Republican ones he favors, pointed out that Cabinet members ― including Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, acting Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler and Energy Secretary Rick Perry ― are already doing that.

This is so fucking illegal. And we're paying for it (in every way).

Our system is broken.

Even our media STILL has to pretend that both sides do stuff.

When President Obama was lending a little star power to Democratic candidates, Republicans and the folks at Fox went ballistic about how the President wasn't attending to his official duties and maybe spending taxpayer dollars on partisan campaigns. Obama was, of course, quite capable of discharging his duties as well as campaigning. Also, he wasn't spending Treasury money for these trips or appearances, because he understood the law.

In 2018, Republicans apparently can't care less about whether the president is doing his job or campaigning for candidates on the public dime.

Good lord, if I even had a discussion comparing political parties at a government work site during election season, I'd be disciplined.
