According to Peter Beinart at the Atlantic, it's a matter of 'You say Tomato and I say Tom-a - t0. You say Potato and I say Pot -a - t0'
To Trump's supporters it is not about political corruption but, corruption of traditional ideas and norms. To them, the man who murdered the college girl in Iowa was more corrupt then the fact that Trump may have broke the law. To them, he is the solution not the problem.
It's again the old story of traditional gender roles and, of course, acceptable roles in race.
So, they see corruption totally different from how the rest of the country sees corruption.
Duncan Hunter is corrupt.
To them Hillary is corrupt for daring to break accepted gender roles.

(16,646 posts)The population that steadfastly supports the president tends towards the "ends justify the means" type of thinking. It is very similar to their form of "logic" that says basically if it SHOULD work some way, then that IS the way it works, facts be damned. If trickle down "makes sense" then it must be so. If a guy is doing something for the right reasons or goals, then what he is doing is okay.

(15,805 posts)and simple-minded, that was certainly a thought provoking read. I can't put myself in the mindset of people who can set aside objective, quantifiable facts in exchange for emotions, feelings and ego. I only need to look at Trump to know they exist, but they might as well be alien creatures from another planet because I will never understand their 'thinking'.
