Since the criminal justice system has to function quietly and slowly, the accused has had ample and uninterrupted time to sow the seeds of dissent and misdirection.

"chiarivari" -- the sound the orchestral players make after they've come on stage and try out a few notes, THEN the conductor comes out. But the orch hasn't technically warmed up until the conductor arrives.

As an ex-orchestral player I can't wait until THIS conductor arrives.
