Cohen Wasn’t Alone: Records Suggest Others in Trump Circle Had Role in Hush Money Arrangements
By William K. Rashbaum
Aug. 22, 2018

Michael D. Cohen wasn’t the only one.

The court filing in the case of Mr. Cohen, President Trump’s self-described fixer, indicates for the first time that others at Mr. Trump’s company had a role in the financial arrangements used to silence women who claimed that they had affairs with him, after the hush money payments were made.

Two senior Trump Organization executives had involvement in the financial arrangements, according to the 22-page court filing.

Separately, one or more members of the 2016 Trump campaign were cited as having worked to identify stories about Mr. Trump’s romantic entanglements “so they could be purchased and their publication avoided,” the filing said.

Mr. Cohen, the filing said, “coordinated with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls,” about the nature and timing of the payments, which were made to influence the election.

For something as delicate as hush money for sex, they'd want to keep it in the family. Don Jr. is now "Executive Director", Eric "Executive Vice President".

He's been with the Trump Org. for a very long time. And he keeps a low profile, avoids talking to the press if he can help it. I believe Mr. Weisselberg just had a friendly chat with the grand jury not long ago.

9. Trump Organization opened up to prosecution for tax fraud and money laundering

Jenny Johnson Ware, partner at the Chicago tax litigation firm Johnson Moore, said the allegations made by prosecutors, if true, made it a near certainty that at least one of the Trump entities was filing false tax returns. The section of the information also suggested that prosecutors could soon target Trump Organization executives if they continue to press forward in the Cohen investigation.

Mitchell Epner, an attorney at Rottenberg Lipman Rich who was previously an assistant US attorney for the District of New Jersey, told Business Insider in an email that the language used by prosecutors in the filing "raises the possibility in my mind of a potential prosecution for money laundering."

Roland Riopelle, a partner at Sercarz & Riopelle who was formerly a federal prosecutor with the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, pointed to Weisselberg being summoned to testify testimony to the grand jury and told Business Insider the executive "may already have immunity and may already have told the SDNY what they know."

"If that is so, it explains why the SDNY does not need Cohen to testify as to campaign finance issues," Riopelle added. "That testimony has already been obtained. If the employees do not have immunity, it is possible they, too could be charged with crimes, if the government can show they knew they were violating the law and covering up the illicit payments."

The trump organization coordinated with the campaign to identify and pay for the silence of women, who had affairs with trump. This was done to influence the election. The payouts were ultimately paid by the trump org. as legal fees to further hide the pmts.

The funny part is that if they were paid by the campaign it would have contained the damage to the campaign. Insulating Benedict Donald & the traitor tots to a degree. By using their business that opens a whole 'nother can of worms.

The lengths they went to, to hide the payments indicates that they knew what they were doing was illegal.

Even when trump said the other day that the payments came from him, not the campaign was a lie. They came from the company.
