Seventy percent of Americans support 'Medicare for all' in new poll

A vast majority — 70 percent — of Americans in a new poll supports "Medicare for all," also known as a single-payer health-care system.

The Reuters–Ipsos survey found 85 percent of Democrats said they support the policy along with 52 percent of Republicans.

(snip)

The policy’s proponents, however, point to a note in the study showing that health-care costs would also decrease by $2 trillion by 2031 if it became law.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who has introduced a Medicare for all bill, has said that the Mercatus study is “grossly misleading and biased.”

why this is a really bad idea that can’t possibly work. I’ve learned that right here. But I’m still not sophisticated enough to understand it.

We're told "pie in the sky" Canadian type health care "shall never come to pass", So I will just go with that it is impossible, for the U.S. just the U.S. to have it.

that if you let insurance corporations, for-profit hospitals and big pharma run health care the focus will not be on end results.

It's all about profit and the big fish in the ocean will most definitely gobble up the overwhelming quantity of spoils.

a big loser. I am confused. I want to pay in to Medicare and start it right away! I am seeing arguments that it would be "hard" to do so we should just not even try. That sucks. What an attitude. Eat the rich and get the strength to get up and do what needs to be done. The Republicans who want to live better will get on board. Let's just try really hard to make it work. Dems would be wise to work for the good of All.

The devil is in the details and I would not trust the Repugs to not screw it up.

The best thing would be to just expand the current Medicare plans.
