Watching Lawrence tonight and his running down of all the differing investigations into Trump's business, that his CFO is giving information to the feds and has immunity, that his former buddy from the National Enquirer has dumped him for immunity, taking his safe full of secrets along with him...ect., it hit me that the Trump's years of criminal behavior and getting away with it is coming crumbling down thanks to the Porn Star and her lawyer.
Yes, Mueller is most likely orchastrating some of this week, the fact that Stormy Daniels got a new, pugnacious lawyer who fought for her rights and took the fight to both Cohen and Trump that beginning with the raid and culminating in this historic week, all the action is coming thanks to Stormy and Michael filing a suit a few months ago.
All the action is coming out of NYC and because of the suit.
I think we all owe these two and need to say 'Thank You'

(3,163 posts)Don't get me wrong, I hold no torch for Donald Trump. Despise the man.
But, come on. A porn star tells Trump that she will destroy his campaign by making something public unless he pays her a large sum of money. That is "extortion by blackmail," which is a federal crime.
Maybe we should be celebrating Trump's downfall, but we most certainly should not be idolizing and celebrating a porn star for committing a federal crime.

Get your facts straight.

(53,827 posts)The removed post accused Daniels of blackmail, but at least according to the plea, neither woman made first contact with anyone involved with Trump. Each went directly to tabloids first (though both did have attorneys shopping the story, the same one), vs contacting Trump and threatening to go public beforehand.
In each case, whether the payoff came from the tabloid or Cohen's HELOC, neither woman approached Trump first with a demand of money for silence (blackmail).

(2,344 posts)Stormy and Avenatti took on the beast well before there was any thought that they might win. When we look back at this point in time.... I truly believe that Stormys bravery and Avenattis steadfastness and unabashed loyal defense of his client... was the first chink in the house of Trump. Remarkable for them and remarkable for us that accepted and believed in her rights and Avenattis defense of those rights.

And, yes we do owe Stormy and Michael Avenatti a huge Thank You!
Imagine getting dumped by Pecker to save his own skin.
We never saw that coming. It's Surreal!

But Avenatti said it was a worthless agreement and she decided to trust his judgment.
Good for both of them -- but especially, to Stormy the Brave.
