Everything and I mean everything that the GOP is determined to deliver to the country is a health care system that is a luxury. If you cannot afford it you do not get. In their world even heart attacks, strokes, life saving means et al should not be rendered unless there is an immediate ability to pay for it.
If you listen to their rhetoric they say we cannot afford health care for everyone. That health care and even life saving care should only be for the most privileged or individuals deemed IMPORTANT to society. Why waste resources on people who do not matter.
The GOP probably favors death commissions making medical decisions.
The public simply does not understand their ultimate goal with their policies. Think about it. No Medicare, no medicaid, no government involvement, cost limits, no coverage with pre existing conditions et al. No coverage with pre existing conditions means let nature take its course.
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that the GOP brings to the table except misery and death for the unfortunate and unselected.
The GOP need to be directly and aggressively confronted on its deliberate malfeasance. None of their schemes are worthy of ANY discussion. Yet their proposals seem to get a legitimacy that they do not deserve.
Ultimately, EVERYONE develops a pre existing condition of some sort over time. Some come earlier and some later. At some point 100% of the population has some kind of condition or previous illness. Not covering pre existing conditions is where we are going unless the GOP is stopped.

(42,641 posts)It is called single payer, and it works far better than the US profit-centered system, and it costs less.
But we constantly read and hear that single payer is some how unrealistic, or divisive, or that it would cost too much. The plain truth is, the US system is unrealistic and costs too much.
