The Navy Hymn

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the Sea !

O Christ ! Who voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked'st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the Sea !

Most Holy Spirit ! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the Sea !

O Trinity of love and power !
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock to tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from Land and Sea.

SEMPER FORTIS

I always honored the service John McCain gave to this country.

He didn’t have to serve in Vietnam, he could have easily got our of it or held a post far from the war but he didn’t.

And for that he was held prisoner and tortured for years. I can’t to this day imagine the kind of mental and spiritual strength the man had to endure that terror so long.

Some gave all and surely John McCain is one. A real American hero and patriot.

Rest In Peace good sir, you have fulfilled your duty, above and beyond.

My husband is not as progressive as I am, and he definitely respected John McCain. He could not vote for him with Palin as running mate, which is one of the many reasons why I love him!

I salute in his place!
