In a way McCain's death was a gift.

For several days now the airwaves and newspapers and social media are full of talk about integrity and true patriotism and respect for others and working across the aisle and admitting mistakes and.... and.... instead of the awful stuff spewing out of the White House.

We all have to die sometime. I'm glad the timing is such that something is able to take the focus away from .... don't even want to type his name....

the way trump is still holding grudge against (dead) McCain is abhorrent and, hopefully, people around him will strart pulling Omarosa.

4. A Very Minor Reprieve

The McCain news has only been out there since Friday, so 3 Days and over a weekend. There probably would not have been a great deal to cover Drumpf wise over the weekend, unless his playing golf and tweeting is news.

The media will spend time on the McCain story over the coming days, and of course, when they have his funeral. But tomorrow it will be back to Drumpf coverage.

5. McCain's death makes a Kavanaugh confirmation more likely... not much of a gift.

Long term matters more than short term. A few days reprieve from media coverage of The Dotard's message is nothing in the big picture.

I think Kavanaugh would have been confirmed anyway, but it's even more likely now. Trump will be dead and buried for decades before we repair the damage wrought by the upcoming ultra-right SCOTUS majority, if ever.

One can conspire with a Foreign Government to CHEAT their way to an election "victory," and that is what ultimately matters.
