FOX NEWS HAD TO LOCK THEIR COMMENTS SECTIONS ON EVERY FUCKING JOHN MCCAIN STORY because it read like the comments were coming straight from the depths of hell. It's an important story to those MSM members that have shown thousands of hours of Donnie Short Fingers voters sitting about a table in Dumbfuckistan, 'Murika explaining their "economic angst".
Just read the Fox News comments on any John McCain story...and then tell me that we "need to understand" these fuckwads.

(3,496 posts)The scum showed up this morning on fox friends news clips whining they could not post their opinions. Then proceeded to use those clips comments to post their filth.

(8,200 posts)I hold the Republican Party responsible for this situation. Rather than denounce the hate radio jocks and FOX they have indorsed them and encouraged them to disseminate hatred and division. They are destroying the nation.
Rest in Peace John McCain you were one of the last faithful warriors who put nation before party.

(58,785 posts)Take a look at Kelli Ward, running for AZ's other senate seat. Apparently her newest conspiracy theory is that McCain timed his death to distract AZ media from her bus tour.
Actually, she's a hard-right trumpian swamp creature, and the idea that McCain and family at least might have been pleased that his announcement and then death would distract from the campaign of such a person isn't that unbelievable. A last service he could do for his state?
Poor, abused Ward is touring with Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich (!!!) to GOTV from the woodwork for tomorrow's AZ primary. Apparently she was worried that crowds of media wouldn't be there to ask her if she also thinks there's no such thing as date rape, just sluts asking for it.
From AZCentral: "I don't really know what Mike Cernovich's views are," Ward said. "I know he's got an audience and we want to serve everyone." "I went from libertarian to alt-right after realizing tolerance only went one way and diversity is code for white genocide. ~ Cernovich October 2015
Ward did not dispute the notion and said in reply: I think they wanted to have a particular narrative that they hope is negative to me."
McCain died just hours after Wards Facebook comments.

In today's world I see no reason why megalomania or a world view from the deepest depths of the rabbit hole would hurt someone with constituencies who like that. Quite the contrary.
Itm, Ward and Arpaio are apparently competing for kind of people whose posts are giving Fox a bad image (!), helping the lead candidate who's still trying to recover from being caught expressing less than passionate admiration for Der Leader.

(81,516 posts)and he was very vocal about supporting countries bordering Russia, particularly NATO members Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as Ukraine and Georgia.
Putin was scared of McCain because he kept speaking out against Russian expansionism in the Senate and the press.

(4,999 posts)A significant mission of Russia is to divide us, to make us hate each other more, so there is less chance that we'll sit down and have real conversations with each other.
Divided we fall...

(51,574 posts)He reversed his position on the flying of the Confederate flag and he supported immigration. If you don't kowtow to the racists, you lose GOP support fast. Then, last year, he dramatically voted against ACA repeal, upholding Obama's signature legislative achievement. He saved thousands of lives in doing so. Us Dems like that kind of thing, ya know.
Lucky Luciano
(11,257 posts)I appreciate very much his ACA vote. That was a big one, but most of the time he did tow the party line when he voted. ACA was huge though and deserves a lot of consideration.
He had a decency I appreciate as well.
The Warhawk thing though is tough to swallow to say the least. I distinguish his hawkishness from the likes of Cheney though - Cheney was a war profiteer which is obviously 10x worse.

(111,103 posts)...but sometimes their commercials are in sync and I will switch over to FOX just to see what they are talking about?
This morning, both CNN and MSNBC were talking about John McCain and his legacy.
FOX was talking about "youth unemployment" at an all-time low. And the lady host, not the usual one, was saying that we would not hear this on any of the other networks, only FOX.
But, as I quickly switched channels, FOX will not say one word about the economy that Trump inherited or the huge taxcuts that were not needed or the huge deficits that they have created, robbing our government of the opportunity to invest in the people of this country.
If you want only part of the story, watch FOX News.

(2,410 posts)The notion that there are Americans so "addicted" to demonstrably false constructs that they'll believe anything is quite disturbing.
This guy McCain IS an American hero who, despite some misguided politics, more often than not tried to adhere to essential, core Democratic principles. The Founders were afraid of factionalism and sectionalism, and McCain saw those dangers clearly.
And, as a result, the biggest faction in America today, the Cult of Trump, reviles him at his passing.
Who are the real patriots again?

(9,670 posts)I think the propaganda effect of several decades has conditioned conservatives to be manipulated like sheep with greater and greater ease. The puppet masters can take the most auspicious of local heroes and defile them in a short period of time to be construed as if they were a long-time foe.
The reason for Trump's consistent (yet poor) favorability ratings, his deflection of Russian and other felonious implications, though disproven by information in the public sector, the proliferation of fake news accusations when the actual fake news is what is being dispensed by their media sources, is the influence of unfettered, unmitigated propaganda. These people believe what they want to believe, not the truth. They believe that the man who was their overwhelming choice as a presidential nominee just 10 years prior is now anathema to their core beliefs. The world didn't change. Conservatism didn't change. Their minds have been altered. We are now tasked with a deprogramming effort that will either make or break the republic.
