OMG - did I just hear Kasich quote Lou Reed.

"Walk on the wild side"...and then referenced the song.

I suspect John only heard it on AM radio and missed the verse about everybody's darling Candy, who "...never lost her head even while she was giving head."

“I was getting so sick of this right wing republican shit
These ugly old men scared of young tit and dick
So I tried to think of something that made me sick
And there it was - SEX WITH YOUR PARENTS

Here in the big city we got a word
For those who would bed their beloved big bird
And make a mockery of our freedoms
By god we have a name for people like that
It's - hey motherfucker!”

Love Lou's music, have since I was a teenager. As a 70's/80's kid growing up in middle America there was something romantic and dangerous and exciting in the dirty, liberal, underbelly of NYC that he protested in his songs! Thanks for sharing that commercial, made me laugh!

No, he was just waiting to score some H. Let's make him head of the opioid epidemic.

And yes those verses were not probably heard by our parents but we young people knew em!

I'm sure Kasich didn't realize what he was talking about
