This won't go over well with all those federal employees in Barbara Comstock's district.

fall in that category. This is a suburban district and conservatives and moderates who live there “get” what it would mean for Dems to retake Congress.

His "base" is going to believe any Bullshit he feeds them.

Nixon still had over 25% approval when he resigned in disgrace.

The base won't leave even if Drumpf shoots a Pregnant Born Again Christian Gun Owner on 5th Avenue.

Don't worry about his fucking base, they are not going anywhere no matter what happens.

Are highly educated professionals, for the most part. So she’s been in trouble for several years, despite terrible gerrymandering in VA. This may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

I assume there’ll be a move to overturn this in Congress by adding the pay raise to the CR Congress has to pass before Sep. 30. Great issue for Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA-10) to take lead on. And in Senate, a tough vote for Ted Cruz (lots of civilian federal workers in TX).

A lot of federal employees and their friends, families and colleagues (i.e contractors who were, want to be, or know many federal employees). Also increasingly diverse. When the Democrats won 15 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates last year, a lot of the gains came from her district. She is very vulnerable and can't afford to lose a single vote.

One more small step toward death to the Federal Government we know by a million cuts - preparing it for a drowning in a bathtub.

Whether threatened or real, the notion of no raises or COLA will slowly over time reduce the quality of our federal workforce.

Next, we'll hear the "I told you so" and the "time to privatize"......

Panicked GOP cutting off cash to highly vulnerable candidates as they face midterm bloodbath tied to Trump

TOM BOGGIONI 31 AUG 2018 AT 07:58 ET

With Republicans facing what many are calling a “blue wave” of Democrats taking control of the House — and possibly the Senate — the Republican Party is cutting off funding to some incumbents whose races appear to be a lost cause under an increasingly unpopular president.

According to Politico, GOP officials feel that up to 45 Republican-held seats are now at serious risk, and are making plans to shut down support for incumbents whose campaigns are going nowhere and have failed to do much on their own to raise much-needed campaign donations.

“This is the time of year when tough decisions have to be made,” Ken Spain, a longtime former top National Republican Congressional Committee staffer, told Politico. “There are likely going to be a number of unhappy Republican members of Congress in the coming weeks.”

According to the report, the party is looking at polling to determine whom to weed out, with Rep. Barbara Comstock (VA), Rep. Keith Rothfus (PA), and Rep. Rod Blum (IA) reportedly on the funding chopping block.
