(224 posts)From my years working in Corrections, please be aware that TV watching has many values for staff in these institutions. Mostly keeps damage and vandalism down. And they are Color TVS. We had to explain to the tough politicians who viewed the TVs as "coddling" inmates that in the modern world they are cheaper because they are so common.
This tickled me with your post. The future prisoners will NOT enjoy television. LMFAO.

(5,586 posts)Assuming he doesn't pardon himself. He cannot shield himself from impeachment with a pardon, but he may be able to protect himself from any criminal prosecution after leaving office. In any case, this will be tied up in the courts for a decade, and the dude will be dead by then anyway.

(5,586 posts)The next President will face the same thing Johnson faced after Nixon. A prosecution of Trump will consume America. The next President will want to focus on the future and what he / she can do to affect it.
Precedent has been set already, and I believe Trump and any future American President will be pardoned rather than face criminal prosecution. Unless the crime is something like murder or genocide. I think there was more of a chance Bush would be prosecuted after his term than Trump.

Protective custody = solitary cell. And that won't have a TV.
He might be able to hear the TV in the dayroom, though.
When Chuck Colson (Nixon's WH Counsel and Hatchet Man) went to federal prison, he was assigned a laundry job, washing underwear of the other prisoners. He said it humbled him.
Trump will have to beware of Russian stooge, mobbed up to poison him.
