Watching Modern Marvel 10 year old series. Showing how bad infrastructure is. GOP making sure it will never be fixed with tax cut obsession. We are so far behind. Actually the GOP plans to sell it all off to foreign interests or corporations. Expect massive increase in toll roads with money going to corporations or foreign interests. China could own your local water works.

(14,491 posts)Love the picking in that one. I listen much more to pickers than the singer in most any song. That album (Soon) had many of Nashville's best (like one of my favorites Brent Mason on lead). And, wow, Eddie Bayers, David Hungate, Michael Rhodes, Matt Rollings, Steve Gibson, Brent Rowan, Billy Joe Walker AND Jerry Douglas.
That's an A-team, man.

(14,491 posts)so the oligarchs, kings, plutocrats and other billionaires would be on the street with the rest of us. It's an impossible idea to support because so many millions would die, but there's probably no other way to re-establish total humility in the human species.
My parents went through the Great Depression in the worst way - mom's family on a tiny rocky creekbed farm and dad's working in timber. Both had to quit school in the 8th grade, but were very wise people.
The reason I'm relating this story is because when some of the old timers would get completely fed up with all the mischief in the nation, they would say "what this country needs is another Great Depression" and I always knew they meant we need to become far more humble again.

(63,221 posts)Good point. I think the only thing that will change their mind on this topic is for a rich plutocrat to perish in a tragic bridge collapse. Hopefully dozens of them. But it's we the people who will suffer for their greed and negligence.
