Just saw the clip of her at Aretha's funeral. That poem! That hat! 93 years old!

It was so great. The scene with the aged Miss Jane taking her time and relishing drinking out of the "white" water fountain....man.

At the time, I was a member of Theta Sigma Phi, now known as Association for Women in Communications. The Chicago chapter was on a visit to Ebony magazine's new headquarters building here. She happened to be there at the time and wanted to meet us. Ms. Tyson was a very gracious lady and I'll never forget that day.

this weekend but I'll hunt down the video and catch it next week. I loved Aretha, since we were very young. This sounds like the funeral for the ages. I will certainly be watching it.
