A YouGov poll has Trump losing a net of 9 points in one day in their polling: Trump's approval in that poll went from a 43% approval and 50% disapproval to a 38% approval and 54% disapproval. That change was accomplished in a single day (yesterday). In addition, a new IBD poll has Trump at 36% approve and 56% disapprove in it's latest findings, also published today. This reinforces that astonishing ABC/WP poll with a 60% disapproval number, compared to a 36% approval number that everyone is talking about. I have posted the 538 Average here, which shows Trump 14 points under water, with only the phony, bullshit, outlier Rasmussen Poll keeping Trump at the 40% point mark in the average.

(2,187 posts)Esp considering he was too afraid to be one of them and an absolute bastard to one of their own (McCain). He's fucked up the VA even worse! What were they thinking?!?!

(10,721 posts)There isn't anything special about them or his evangelical supporters. They're all motivated by racism (including xenophobia), sexism and misogyny, homophobia, jingoism, etc.

(13 posts)Seems to have hurt him a lot. Democrats On the other hand showed respect for the dead and benefited from it.

(6,377 posts)That one outlier is the only thing keeping him about 40.

(28,270 posts)I hated McCain's politics but he damned well served his country and endured things that yellow Russian spy/traitor in the white house would never dream of doing, that's for damn sure!
And for that service he deserves honor not some punk ass POS raising up the flag from half mast after a couple of days because he's jelly over a dead war hero!
Trump will go down in history as the absolute worst piece of human debris that ever left his traitor stank in the white house and all the people in his administration and this GOP Congress will share that stank!

(20,686 posts)I expect it's his behavior about McCain: that may be the last straw for some typically republican devotees. His base, however, which looks like it's about 30%, won't ever drop him. They like his destruction.

(8,652 posts)ABS/WP was done over a week's time.
These are not one day polls. also, I saw posted here a poll out today giving the Dems an 11 point generic ballot average.
I agree, one poll may be an outlier, but not 4.

I've been watching their polling since its inception. What it does is become a Republican outlier right up to about 5 days before an election. It will skew at least 8 points to the Republican. Then, just before the election, it moves into line with the rest of the reputable polls, so it can appear accurate on election day. That's why 538 rates it a C+ poll.

(10,828 posts)with his continued vendetta against John McCain following his death. The flag nonsense and the late statement from the WH left a sour note with many vets, military men and their families. You don't risk blood and kin to duty and country, and then have patience for a petulant man-child spitting on a veteran's legacy, particularly a man of McCain's stature. We don't have to agree with John McCain's political philosophy to know who is/was the better man--McCain or the Trumpster.
Captain Bone Spurs went too far on this one.
