Why would somebody roll out their VP pick on a Friday night/Sat. morning?

What advantage is gained from that?

You do it on a Monday through Thursday when you have the people's attention.

Better yet, he should have done this 2-3 before the RNC convention to maximize his (if any) momentum.

The numbers this week were real sobering to his campaign. Its no longer early. He is down 9 points even on FOX News. The electoral college looks even more difficult. The President is currently so strong in Ohio, the aggregate poll numbers there are almost outside the margin of error.

He needs to change the race now. And he knows it. Thus, he has changed his game plan. And here we are.

They have to try to head off the begging for mercy/truce thing before it gets a full head of steam. I don't think it is going to work, but I do think that is why it is timed for tomorrow.

If the VP can make all the Sunday talk shows it could work out OK. Although the convention is still about 2 weeks away.

I guess they really really really want to get people talking about something other than Rmoney's taxes. Even Ryan's budget looks like an improvement to them.

the Sunday talking head shows would be full of nothing else. You'd grab immediate attention away from Obama/Biden all the way to the convention.
