Fred Guttenberg
Just walked up to Judge Kavanaugh as morning session ended. Put out my hand to introduce myself as Jaime Guttenberg's dad. He pulled his hand back, turned his back to me and walked away. I guess he did not want to deal with the reality of gun violence

My daughter is Jaime Guttenberg. She was murdered in Parkland Florida on February 14, 2018. I will dedicate the rest of my life to the cause of gun safety.

That picture is going to come back and haunt him and it should. Anyone who would treat someone like the parent of a murdered child like that does NOT belong on the SCOTUS.

Seems to me he's generally made his decisions long before the first word is uttered in court.

As if no other judge ever associated with a victim or business that might later come up in court later on.

They are gonna get their way in the short haul, get thousands of Women and POC killed for sure, one way or another, but eventually this kind of PR will get them put back in their place, the place where scum belongs.

(10,159 posts)to defend the people and Constitution of the US.
My interpretation of the encounter:
Kavanaugh: "Who is this plebeian and why does he consider himself worthy to shake my hand? I don't recognize him, so he obviously isn't important and therefore can not do anything for me or my masters. He's probably going to whine about the ACA or women's rights to their own bodies or something else unimportant. Eewww - I almost got poor person cooties! McConnell didn't tell me I'd actually have to come in contact with a non-rich person."
For someone of Kavanaugh's relgiousity, he seems to have forgotten what Jesus said about how one treats the least of people is how they treat him. More than his stated opinions or his writings this encounter tells me he's not fit to be on any court, much less the highest one.

(19,204 posts)you can bet there would never be any sort of effective gun control passed as long as Kavanaugh was a Supreme Whore Justice. There has never been a more fascist nominee for the SC than Kavanaugh. That is a fact, my friends.

(4,365 posts)that the people vying for the complete take over and control of our government and country don't care. Yes, that's a harsh and cold statement. They do not care about us...the "masses." They worship only money and power. And if you do not worship those things too, well, you're trash and disposable in their eyes. I've walked in certain circles and heard them talk. It's the reason I haven't walked in those circles for decades.
If Kavanaugh is appointed to the SC, we will be in deep, deep trouble as a country. It might take a decade, but we will look back and wonder what ever happened to our great country. It will be decades if not generations of struggle to get back what we lost.

(111,110 posts)An opposing political viewpoint is alien to his partisan grooming. Once he becomes the newest Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, then the Republicans will have little need for Donald Trump. Their agenda has been mostly fulfilled. He reminds me in some way of Robert Bork.
