I hoped McCain would last and NOT be there to give the GOP one vote. Too bad he is gone so soon. We just cannot seem to get a break on anything.

His living in AZ really was never a "break" the Democrats could count on to last very long.

If he had resigned on May 31, there would have been a special election this November. He still would gotten his grand exit, but it would have been a real FU to Trump and the people of Arizona would have a choice.
