Trump demands NYT turn anonymous source over to government 'for National Security purposes'

President Trump on Wednesday lashed out at The New York Times in a tweet over the paper’s publishing an op-ed by an anonymous Trump administration official.

Hours after the piece was published, Trump questioned whether the official exists and demanded that the paper turn the author over to the government, saying it is a national security issue.

“Does the so-called “Senior Administration Official” really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source?” he tweeted. “If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!”

Trump also appeared to question earlier Wednesday whether the official had committed “treason” by writing the piece.

9. Why is he so scared to demand

All indicted russians involved in the election hacking be turned over to us? Why is he upset if its all fake news now? Why is he trying to find out who the sources were now? I think most know why he hasn't attacked putin for not turning them all over to us now, he's so compromised and corrupted he can't, and won't, and instead still trying to help the enemy by raising the oil sanctions for him. Aid and comfort to the enemy presently attacking us. But he claims he's strong on russia. Give me a break , he's a asset for putin , and they are allowing him to pick a justice for the highest court in this country for life. No wonder senior people in this administration are so worried , and speaking out like they are now doing without giving their identity out from fear of his actions. He's an asset of an enemy, a terrorist murderer, and corrupt dictator stealing billions from the people in russia, and now using a puppet here to try to do the same thing. Attack free press, free speech , and especially attack the truth. That's putin doing this , and using trump to do it . No nominee for the highest court should be now allowed to go forward from an asset of putin's.
