...just now in the hearing.
Says he realizes he could be "ousted from the Senate," and "accepts the consequences."
The 'secret' classification is an invention by the chair of the committee, not a law, not truly confidential documents being released, not a violation of anything but the chairman's arbitrary rules.

These are the 4 documents marked committee confidential that Senator Cory Booker brought up in his questioning of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh on September 5, 2018.

(86,005 posts)..follow along when you see experts explain excerpts that are relevant.
Nice to see so much of a paper trail, though. I can remember many conservative candidates who slipped past without much of a record of views at all.
Kavanaugh is clearly an ideologue who sought to advance many far right views and assaults on our liberties and protections.

(13,340 posts)I joke, but only a little.
If he exposes this bullshit for what it is, I think he has earned serious consideration for the nomination.
If he is kicked out of the Senate, making him President might be a good comeback.

(86,005 posts)...considering that, if true, there was stonewalling from the WH until the last hour.
Given the reaction from the Chair and republicans on the committee, they were determined to keep up THEIR charade. Booker just smoked them out, called their bluff.
It was a marvelous sight to behold. Dems wrote the next act in that power play.
