I'm sure others on CNN will have very different opinions, so a more appropriate reaction, I think, would be "Fuck John King."

Booker, etc., feel it will and perhaps will accomplish something with respect to Kavanaugh's nomination or how he conducts himself as a Justice. Who knows.

Winning at least the House in November will accomplish much more.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but short the proverbial dead girl or live boy found in his bed, this nomination is almost certainly going to go through, unless somehow this (rigged) process is halted until after the midterms.• And our incredible Democratic senators on the Judiciary committee are doing their damndest to try to shut this sham down. But it is highly unlikely that they will succeed. And yes, their heroic—and sincere—efforts will be rewarded in the political arena.

But the Republicans are in full control and don't care if they are breaking committee precedent or that the whole thing is a shocking mess. It's horrific, but I fear we will see this nomination pass the Republican committee and Republican senate before the midterms.

It's scary, but I am trying to be realistic about the political situation here.

* In a normal situation, the president would be withdrawing the nomination about this time, given the controversy swirling around it. But these are not normal times and this is not a normal president.
