(537 posts)Lest this sound insensitive or controversial in any way (please don't hijack thread for that, please?), today when I saw Booker speaking, I had a flashback to the moment I first thought that about Obama, a clip of him speaking in Congress. It was like deja Vu.

(5,528 posts)I love his combination of optimism and toughness.
He can spend twenty minutes talking up love and respect but then turn on the righteous anger when it matters.
Being a good speaker is a great advantage and one that I think is an absolute must in a candidate. I don't think you have to be a good speaker to be a good leader but it sure helps to get you elected.
I also love that his resume looks like it comes from Central casting. Stanford Football player, Oxford Rhodes scholar, Yale law, heroic fire rescue
He will fight the the bachelor stigma and the insinuations that come with that. But I think that is a real opportunity to change the conversation rather than a liability. He has been good about turning the sexuality question back on the people that ask it.
